3 cups yellow cornmeal
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
3 cups melted butter
3 eggs (beaten)
1/4 cup milk
1 4-ounce can diced green chiles
3/4 cup chopped green onions
3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the melted butter and eggs, and add the milk. Add the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Stir in the green chiles, green onions, cheese and sausage. Pour the batter into a buttered 9-inch square baking pan and bake 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
