| 1 | lb | dried spaghetti or other long pasta |
| 1 | T | olive oil |

| 3/4 | c | white wine |
| 2 | T | tomato paste |
| 2 | ripe tomatoes, chopped | |

Instructions
Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of well-salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-9 minutes. Drain.
Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and brown for 4-5 minutes, crumbling as it cooks. Add the wine and tomato paste, stir well and cook for 5 minutes longer. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 more minutes. (At this point you can add other ingredients of your choice—cooked vegetables, chopped chicken, nuts, etc.) Add the chopped basil.
Toss the drained pasta with the sauce. Transfer to a platter and serve.
